About
Promoting Academic Excellence in Gulf County, Florida, since 1996, the Education Foundation of Gulf County, Inc. (EFGC) serves to enhance educational programs and support innovative and effective teaching and learning initiatives for public school students in Port St. Joe and Wewahitchka, Florida. EFGC, led by a volunteer board of directors, provides funding with the help of donations from individuals, businesses, corporations, foundations, and state matching dollars through the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations and Florida Legislature. EFGC works to build collaborative partnerships with families, schools, and our community partners all working together and committed to the idea of helping each child learn and to achieve his/her greatest potential.

The Education Foundation of Gulf County, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit community organization whose mission is exclusively educational and charitable. The Education Foundation of Gulf County in partnership with Gulf District Schools works to improve the educational opportunities of all students by supporting enhanced opportunities for a quality education and promoting greater community involvement in education through program-based opportunities.

State Funds Provide $1 for $1 Match Incentive to Increase Student Achievement in Gulf County, Florida
For your convenience there are multiple ways that you can donate to the Education Foundation of Gulf County. Every dollar raised has the potential to be matched by funds from the State of Florida through the $1 for $1 Match Incentive for Charitable Giving.
Since 2001, $46.5 million dollars has been allocated by the Florida Legislature for the School District Education Foundation Matching Grant Program which has leveraged more than double that amount in private matching dollars. For the 2018-19 school year, $4 million will support 121 projects in 62 county-wide school districts across Florida.
